Announcement

The Command, Control and Interoperability Center for Advanced Data Analysis (CCICADA) is holding a workshop on Best Practices for Stadium Security to be held at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ on February 19 - 20, 2013. The workshop will host 90 participants representing key venues of all of the major professional sports leagues as well as some university stadiums and also senior league security officials. The workshop is sponsored by the DHS Office of Safety Act Implementation as part of a project at CCICADA aimed at identifying best practices for security and counter-terrorism at large venue sports stadiums and arenas. The experts attending the workshop, together with representatives of DHS, local authorities responsible for stadium security, and the CCICADA research team, will seek to identify key components of a stadium counter-terrorism security plan and ways to determine whether those components are effectively implemented. The end result of this workshop will be concrete cumulative documentation of what the field knows and understands as the best ways to manage security concerns and protect patrons, ownership and the iconic value of major professional and college sports as part of American society.
