You are invited to the fifth CCICADA-wide Research Retreat on April 18-20, 2013 which will be held at and hosted by our partners at Texas Southern University in America' s fourth largest city, beautiful downtown Houston, Texas. The goal of the Retreat is to bring together those involved with CCICADA research projects and activities. In this vein, we want to offer all researchers, research specialists and post-doctoral associates working on CCICADA projects, including our affiliated students, the opportunity to present their work. The presentations will be of varying lengths and formats. Time will be made available to promote interaction and discussion. We strongly encourage all CCICADA student researchers to participate and submit abstracts for presentations and posters for consideration. If you are interested in being involved with the Retreat program in the way described, please upload an abstract at archive.ccicada.org/Workshops/ResearchRetreat2013/participation.html NO LATER THAN February 22, 2013 that indicates:

• Your name, affiliation and email address
• Title of project
• Whether you would like to present a short talk, present a demo (possibly with a poster) or present a poster alone
• At least 2 paragraphs describing the project, but no more than 1 page

A Program Committee consisting of Professors Lila Ghemri, Texas Southern University; Eduard Hovy, University of Southern California; William Pottenger, Rutgers University and Dan Roth, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is planning the Retreat program. In addition to setting the program components, the Committee will review the submitted abstracts and will notify applicants of their decision by March 1, 2013.

Additional details about the program will be forthcoming and the program committee will be happy to consider suggestions that you may have.

Please register for the retreat on the Registration Page as soon as possible (NO LATER THAN Wednesday, March 6, 2013) at archive.ccicada.org/Workshops/ResearchRetreat2013/registnew.html. Please contact the PI / your faculty advisor at your institution for assistance with travel expenses.

Whether or not you submit a presentation or if you proposed talk is selected, please plan to attend! The Retreat is a stimulating, interesting and fun event, and you meet colleagues from all around the country doing work that might be relevant to yours.
