Announcement

You are invited to the third CCICADA-wide research retreat on April 1 and 2, 2011 immediately following the DHS Summit, which will be held at Morgan State University in Baltimore. Registration information appears below.

The goal is to bring together everyone doing research in CCICADA. We strongly encourage all CCICADA researchers (including faculty, postdocs and graduate students) to participate and submit abstracts for presentations and posters.

The retreat will start on Friday evening April 1, 2011 following the DHS Summit, and continue throughout Saturday April 2, 2011. The retreat will be hosted by our partners at Morgan State University.

A program committee consisting of Eduard Hovy, Bill Pottenger, and Dan Roth is planning the retreat program. We want to offer all researchers working on CCICADA projects the opportunity to make a short presentation on your work; some presentations might even be given more time. Selected other presentations will be made, and there will be lots of time for interaction. More details about the program will be forthcoming and the program committee will be happy to consider your suggestions.

A block of hotel rooms will be reserved at the Radisson Cross Keys Hotel in Baltimore (http://www.radisson.com/baltimore-hotel-md-21210/mdbaltim); please ask for the "CCICADA Retreat" special rate. Information about how to make a reservation will be forthcoming, as will information about transfers to/from the Summit, airport, hotel, and campus. You can find all information on the CCICADA website at http://www.archive.ccicada.org/, under the tab Conferences and Workshops.

Please register on the Registration Page for the retreat as soon as possible. Please contact the PI / your faculty advisor at your institution for assistance with travel expenses.

Everyone in CCICADA is strongly encouraged to submit a description of their work. Please send the following information NO LATER THAN MARCH 1, 2011 to Christine Spassione spassion@dimacs.rutgers.edu:

For the first three, include an abstract that states:

Abstracts will be reviewed by the program committee and you will be notified of acceptance by March 8. But whether or not your presentation is accepted, please plan to attend! The Retreat is an interesting and fun event, and you meet colleagues from all around the country doing work that might be relevant to yours.

We are looking forward to seeing you all at the CCICADA Retreat!
